Job Overview:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Site Manager (Site Manager) will be an employee of the Aurum Group of Companies and will be working with one of the biggest clients of Aurum. The Site Manager (ON) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the operations, performance, and employees at a specific location (assigned by the client). The role involves being on-site to schedule and manage work activities and employees. The Site Manager ensures that supervisors are fully aware of all work activities and that their teams execute all work to contract specifications. The Site Manager serves as the primary point of contact for on-site Client Management.

Job Location: Client Location

Salary: $70,000 per year + Bonus

Hours of Operation: 4:00 PM- 12:00 AM(EST)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing operations for a specific location and shall be required to be on-site supervising the work performance and employees including the site.
  • Be the primary point of contact for on-site client management and is also responsible to provide support to the Site supervisors.
  • Responsible for appointing, leading, and supervising the Supervisors and employees of a specific location.
  • Responsible for scheduling employees, client management, and improving overall functioning.
  • Streamline operational processes and workflows to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Must be responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive work relationship with all individuals, communicating clearly and consistently through various means (e.g., in person, email, phone calls, etc.), and supporting conversations through email communication to keep all individuals informed in a transparent manner.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Reinforcing work safety, on a daily basis, by means of communication (safety talks and awareness), training (as applicable), and visual (identifying potential hazards at the workplace, signs, etc.) and taking preventive measures to ensure the safety of employees, client staff and the general public.
  • Maintain documentation and record keeping of all safety meetings and/or discussions for the duration of the contract.
  • Monitor the performance of the location against established targets and key performance indicators (KPIs). Take corrective active actions as necessary to meet or exceed goals.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Certification and License:

  • The Site Manager is required to complete the Technical Standard and Safety Authority (TSSA) Site Operator Certification and provide proof of certification before beginning the work on-site.
  • Preferred possession of a current Ontario License (Class A, B, or C with Z endorsement) and a clean abstract.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma is considered an asset.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in site management/project management or a related role is required.
  • Previous experience working in transport, and warehousing is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of making effective decisions and solving complex problems.
  • Customer-oriented approach with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Deep understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a team-player mindset
  • Ability to efficiently use MS Office
  • Acceptable security and criminal record check
