Controller / Director of Finance

Aurum Property Care is Canada's largest high-rise window cleaning and building maintenance company servicing about 800 private sector and government sector clients and thousands of properties through seven national offices. Publicly disclosed clients include: The City of Toronto, The Town of Whitby, York Region, TTC, Morguard, Sandman Hotels, Crossbridge Condominium Services, Canadian Space Agency, Trent University, Humber College, North York General Hospital, Amica Senior Lifestyles, Concordian Realty Management, and Honeywell.

We're recruiting Controller / Director of Finance to join our team. You will be responsible for all accounting and finance functions for this growing business. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be a key member of the leadership team and play a key role in supporting the development of marketing strategies, LOB performance, and exploring new markets and service offerings.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire accounting staff (1 person at the moment)
• Create and manage the overall budget to include accurate and timely performance reviews of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Provides oversight of all cost centres
• Maintain a system of controls to ensure that assets are used appropriately
• Manage the processing of all accounting transactions
• Maintains a chart of accounts and general ledger, from which are compiled a set of financial statements
• Provide regular reports on financial performance and preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosures for various legal entities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of financial experience in an organization with budgets over $5 Million
• Degree or diploma in business, accounting or a related field
• Accounting designation is considered an asset
• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
